Twinsburg Cruises over Stow in Week 10 Victory
With the regular season coming to a close, seasons were slowly coming to an end for teams across Northeast Ohio. For the Twinsburg Tigers, playoffs were next on their calendar as they clinched their playoff spot prior to week 10. As for the Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs, it was their last chance to claim a spot in a heavily talented Division I bracket. After their senior night announcements, the Bulldogs came out in their classic Maroon & Gold uniforms, reminiscing their “golden era” years from 2014 - 2020.
Twinsburg opened up the game with marching down the field and capitalizing on a 3 yard pass from Junior QB Joey Pollock to Sophomore WR JD Okuma to go up 7-0. In the next drive, Stow was unable to respond and was forced to punt, leading Twinsburg to immediately find the end zone on a 1 yard run by Offensive Lineman Zyan Herndo to go up 13-0 after a failed extra point.
Down two scores and a heavy rain coming down, Stow was able to get on the board with a 24 yard field goal by Senior Davis Broghammer. Twinsburg however, found the end zone with a 3 yard pass by Pollock to Senior RB Aiden Stuczynski to increase the Tiger lead 19-3 going into halftime.
In the 3rd quarter, it was all Twinsburg Tigers football. The Tigers jumped up to a 34-3 lead going into the 4th, after two scores by Pollock and Stuczynski. With 12 minutes of their season remaining, the Bulldogs did whatever they could to get another score on the board. The Bulldogs finally connected with a 20 yard pass from Sophomore QB Jake Harrington to Senior WR Joey Lehner to bring it to a 34-10 game. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs were unable to prevent the Tigers from scoring, as Stuczynski found the end zone again from 1 yard out.
With a running clock winding down, the season officially ended for Stow-Munroe Falls, saying goodbye to their beloved 16 seniors. As for the Tigers, they will be preparing for their Division II Region 5 matchup to be announced on the 22nd.
