Suleiman’s 27 points launches North Royalton over Stow-Munroe Falls
The North Royalton Bears stole the show with a 49-38 victory over the Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs in a varsity double-header night. The Bears were coming off their 50-42 win over Willoughby South, while the Bulldogs were coming off a 50-46 loss to the Walsh Jesuit Warriors.
1st Half of Play and Jadallah Suleiman’s 1000th Career Point
The 1st half concluded with the Bears up 24-19 on the Bulldogs, with the Bulldogs cutting the lead to 5 after finishing the 1st quarter down 15-4. Jadallah Suleiman led the half with 7 points. Suleiman also completed a memorable milestone of 1000 career points in the 1st quarter of play. Forward Reece Raymond-Smith led the Bulldogs with 5 points in the half, while Guard Cam Marconi, Forward Michael Romano, and Center Michael Calcaterra had 4 points apiece.
Stow’s 3rd Quarter Comeback and Suleiman’s 4th Quarter Explosion
Kicking off the 3rd quarter, the Bulldogs outscored the Bears 13-4, coming back from their 15-4 1st quarter deficit to go into the 4th quarter up 32-28. Raymond-Smith led the charge with 7 points in the quarter. The fourth quarter however, was all Jadallah Suleiman, as he put up 18 points to bring the Bears to victory over the Bulldogs who were held to 0 points in the final 2 minutes of play.
Final Stats
For the Bears, Suleiman finished the night with 27 points, 5 rebounds, while Forward Gurmehar Kandola added 7 points and 3 rebounds. Center Sasha Sunjevaric dominated the boards with 10 rebounds. Raymond-Smith finished the night with a 18 point, 12 rebound double-double for the Bulldogs, while Michael Romano followed with 5 points and 2 rebounds on the night.
