Rubberducks Scores Four in Eighth Inning to Secure Win over New Hampshire
The Akron Rubberducks defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 8-3 to even the series up 2-2 at Canal Park on a cool Friday firework night.
The Rubberducks finished with 8 hits for 8 runs on the night, with Rubberducks POTG Aaron Bracho (2-4, Run, RBI) and Milan Tolentino (2-3, Run, RBI) leading with 2 hits each, while Kody Huff (1-4, Double, Run), Dayan Frias (1-3, Triple, Run, 2 RBIs), Joe Lampe (1-3, Run, RBI) and Joe Naranjo (1-2, RBI) followed with a hit each. On the mound, starting pitcher Aaron Davenport (4-1) earned the win after pitching the first five innings, allowing six hits for three runs on three errors while walking two batters and striking out four. Bradley Hanner closed out the game in the final inning, allowing only one walk.
The Fisher Cats finished with 7 hits for 3 runs from the batter’s box, with Phil Clarke (3-3, Double, Run) leading with 3 hits, while Gabriel Martinez (1-4, Double, Run, RBI) and Zach Britton (1-4, RBI) drove in a RBI each. On the mound, Devereaux Harrison (1-3) took the loss after allowing four runs on four hits and four errors, while walking four batters and striking out two.
The Cats and Ducks will take the field at Canal Park for game #5 of the series on Saturday at 7pm to kick off June.
