Lutheran East Claims Victory in Battle of Sister Schools
In a highly-anticipated matchup, Lutheran East and Lutheran West faced off on Wednesday night in Northeast Ohio. Last year, the Longhorns pulled off a shock victory against the DIII State Champions, but the Falcons were seeking revenge this time around.
At halftime, Lutheran East held a comfortable lead of 38-26, with Jesse McCulloch leading the way. The Junior forward had a standout performance, totaling 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
Despite a strong effort from Jayson Levis, who led the Longhorns with 14 points, Lutheran West was unable to mount a comeback in the second half. The Falcons secured the 68-52 victory, with McCulloch's dominant performance being the highlight of the game.
With this win, Lutheran East improves to 15-4 on the season and continues to make a statement in Northeast Ohio. Meanwhile, Lutheran West falls to 18-2 but will look to bounce back in their next game. The rivalry between these two sister schools promises to be one to watch in the future.
