Lady Rough Riders Opens Up Season with Dominating Win over Buchtel
The Kent Roosevelt Lady Rough Riders opened up their 2024-25 campaign on a high note, defeating the Akron Buchtel Griffins 58-5. Freshman Grace Schoenberger led the Lady Rough Riders with 10 points, while junior Claire VanDamme and freshman Ava Elliiot followed with 9 points.
Bulldogs Takes Down Rough Riders 56-45
The Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs kicked off their season with a statement win over neighborhood rival Kent Roosevelt on a cold Friday night. The Bulldogs, who were down for the majority of the game, began to catch fire late in the third quarter before taking the lead in the fourth, while holding the Rough Riders to only four points in the final eight minutes of play. Bulldogs senior Cam Marconi led the night with a 29 point, 5 assist performance, while sophomore Kyle Boozer followed with 11 points, including three crucial 3 pointers. On the other end, senior Jaden Dennison finished with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists, while sophomore Cyler Foreman followed with 13 points and brother Carter Foreman snatching 10 rebounds.
Lady Vikings Gets Hot in Second Half in Win over Mayfield
After a day full of college football, the Hoover Lady Vikings claimed their second victory of the season with a 55-22 win over Mayfield. After a slow opening half, the Vikings caught fire in the final 16 minutes, exploding for 37 points to Mayfield’s 13. Junior Zoe McCort led the Lady Vikings with 13 points, while junior Aubrey Fisher followed with 11.
