Bulldogs Bounces Back from Loss with 33 Point Win over Kent Roosevelt
The Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs defeated the crosstown rival Kent Roosevelt Rough Riders in a 33 point blowout 65-32. Bouncing back from their 53-29 loss to Brecksville, the Bulldogs got back on track to knock out their 3 mile rival.
Kicking off the game, the Bulldogs racked up a quick 15 points in the 1st quarter, with Guard Andy Mergen leading the quarter with 5 points, while Guard Jaden Dennison led the Rough Riders with 3 points. With a near double digit lead going into the 2nd, the Bulldogs continued to pull forward, applying 17 points in the 2nd quarter to extend their lead over the Rough Riders 32-11 at the half. Forward Reece Raymond-Smith led the quarter with 11 points of the Bulldogs’ 17, including 3 3’s, while Guard Cam Marconi gathered the remaining 6. Jaden Dennison led the half with 5 points for the Rough Riders, while Center Ryan Slocum followed with 4 points.
Following the 1st half, the Bulldogs kept their engine moving as they continued to extend their lead over the Rough Riders. The Bulldogs finished the final 16 minutes adding 33 points to their total while holding the Rough Riders to 21 points to clinch their victory with a 30+ point margin 65-32.
Reece Raymond-Smith once again proved his dominance on the court, finishing the game with 23 points for the Bulldogs, while Guard Austin Wilhoit and Guard Tyler Spiegel followed with 10 points each. Sophomore Guard Eddie Norman also had a milestone night with his first varsity basket. For Roosevelt, Guard Tyrel Ellington led the Rough Riders with 11 points, while Slocum followed with 6 points and Guard Grant Leslie and Guard Jaden Dennison adding 5 points each.
