Anthony Kendall: The Division III Star Catching the Eye of NFL Scouts
Baldwin Wallace cornerback Anthony Kendall has recently hit the radar of NFL scouts after his impressive pro day workout. The 5’10”, 180 lb senior recorded impressive stats at his pro day, including a 4.45 40-yard dash, 20 bench reps, 39 1/2 inch vertical jump, and 11-1 broad jump. As a result, it is being reported that multiple NFL teams, including the Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Rams, the Miami Dolphins and the Cleveland Browns have shown interest in Kendall.
Kendall’s performance at Baldwin Wallace this past season was equally impressive, with 56 tackles, one sack, three interceptions, and was tied for 13th in NCAA Division III with a career-high 12 pass breakups. He was named an American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) second-team All-American and the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Lee Tressel Defensive Back of the Year. Kendall was also a first-team All-OAC selection.
However, despite his impressive resume, Kendall is expected to go undrafted, with only six Division III players currently playing in the NFL. But his talent and work ethic may just earn him a spot on an NFL roster.
Kendall’s story is a testament to the fact that talent can be found in small schools and that with hard work, determination, and a bit of luck, dreams can come true. While it remains to be seen which team will pick up Kendall, one thing is for sure - this small college player has definitely earned his spot on the radar of NFL scouts.
