2023-24 SWC & GLC Gymnastics Championship: Results, Awards, Etc.
Concluding a warm February Saturday at the Summit County Fairgrounds, the Southwestern Conference and the Great Lakes Conference crowned their 2024 gymnastics champions. The SWC crowned the Berea-Midpark Titans after finishing with a score of 144.950 and claiming all four event titles, with at least 3 Titans finishing in the top 5 in each event. The GLC crowned the Westlake Demons after finishing with a 132.550 in what will be the last ever Great Lakes Conference meet after 8 members (Bay, Buckeye, Lakewood, Normandy, North Olmsted, Rocky River, Valley Forge, and Westlake) announced they will be leaving to form a new league for the 2024-25 school year in May 2023.
Southwestern Conference:
In the vault event, Kenzie Lewis of Berea-Midpark took 1st place with a 9.500, while Reilly Small took 2nd with a 9.450 for Avon. 3rd place went to Maiya Agnew of Berea-Midpark with a 9.250, 4th went to Lydia Bubar of North Ridgeville with a 9.200, and 5th place went to Josie Swartz of Berea-Midpark with a 9.100.
On the uneven bars, the top 3 finishes went to the Titans, with Swartz claiming the top spot with a 9.200, Lewis taking 2nd with a 9.150 and Sarah Van Dress taking 3rd with a 9.050. 4th place went to Luca Salupo of Olmsted Falls with a 8.850, and 5th place went to Lydia Bubar and Meah Peltz of Olmsted Falls with a 8.800.
On the balance beam, Reilly Small took the top spot with a 9.250 for the Eagles, while An Nguyen of Berea-Midpark took 2nd with a 9.200. 3rd place went to Van Dress with a 9.150, 4th place was tied between Maiya Agnew and Cassie Wiersch of Avon with a 8.950, and Kenzie Lewis took 6th place with a 8.900.
In the floor event, Josie Swartz took the top podium with a 9.350 for the Titans, while Reilly Small took 2nd with a 9.250 for the Eagles. 3rd went to Jordan Desmone of Olmsted Falls with a 9.100, 4th place was tied between Titan teammates Finley Devins and Sarah Van Dress with a 9.000 and 6th place was also tied between Maiya Agnew and Kenzie Sikora of Olmsted Falls with a 8.950.
For the All-Around results, Josie Swartz claimed the 1st place finish with a 36.300 for the Titans, while Reilly Small took a close 2nd with a 36.250 for the Eagles. 3rd place went to Kenzie Lewis with a 35.950, 4th place went to Lydia Bubar with a 35.750 and 5th place went to Maiya Agnew with a 35.650.

In the vault event, 1st place was claimed by Emma Nolan of North Olmsted with a 9.650, while 2nd place went to Aliyah Monachino of Westlake with a 9.050. 3rd place went to Gianna Della Vella of Westlake with a 8.400, 4th place was tied between Nadia Milovich of Westlake and Danica Bir of Buckeye with a 8.250, and 5th place went to Alex Alten of Buckeye with a 8.200.

In the floor event, Emma Nolan went 4 for 4 at the top step of the podium, finishing with a 9.700 on the floor to win her 4th event. Jenna Orient took the 2nd place spot with a 9.000, 3rd place went to Navaeh Sejka with a 8.900, Aliyah Monachino took 4th place with a 8.800, and 5th place went to Miranda Pesto with a 8.750.
For the All-Around results, Emma Nolan claimed the title after winning all 4 event titles with a 37.950, while Aliyah Monachino took 2nd with a 35.850. Navaeh Sejka took 3rd with a 33.500, 4th place went to Jenna Orient with a 32.850 and 5th place went to Miranda Pesto with a 32.600.
