2023-24 Suburban League Gymnastics Championship: Results, Awards, Etc.
Concluding another year of Suburban League gymnastics, the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees claimed the league title at their home turf. The Bees combined for a team total of 146.100 to claim the title, while the Aurora Greenmen placed 2nd with a 139.450. With another conference title on their belt, the Bees are looking for more as they prepare for the state tournament to take home their 21st consecutive state title.
In the vault event, Gianna Ravagnani took 1st with a score of 9.550 for the Bees, with Greenmen Hannah Salgado taking 2nd with a 9.500. 3rd place went to Bees Olivia Vasile with a 9.400, 4th place went to Drew Grosel of Twinsburg and Samantha Singleton of Solon with a 9.350, and 5th place went to Abby Pignatiello of Brecksville with a 9.200.
On the uneven bars, Ravagnani took home her second 1st place finish with a score of 9.200, with Salgado, Grosel, Pignatiello and Lea Haverdill tying for 2nd with a 9.000. 3rd place went to Josie Davis of Twinsburg and Avery Butler of Brecksville with 8.900, 4th place went to Shea Boski of Hudson with a 8.850 and 5th place went to Singleton with a 8.800.
On the balance beam, Salgado took the top podium with a 9.300 score, while Samantha Tokar of Stow took 2nd place with a 9.250. 3rd place went to Singleton with a 9.200, 4th place Pignatiello and Avery with a 9.150, and 5th place went to Bri Perkins of Wadsworth with a 9.100.Â
In the floor event, the Bees took the top 3 podium with Ravagnani seeing the top step for the third time for the Bees with a 9.450, while fellow teammates Rachel Kirin and Rachel Kelly took 2nd and 3rd with a 9.350 and 9.300. Grosel took 4th place with a 9.250, and Davis took 5th with a 9.150 for the Tigers.
For the All-Around results, Salgado took the top podium with a 36.800, while 2nd place went to Ravagnani with a 36.700, despite her 3 1st place finishes. Grosel took 3rd with a 36.650, 4th place went to Singleton with a 36.150, 5th place went to Broski with a 35.650, and 6th place went to Tokar with a 35.450.Â
